NJ Falk is a multiple Webby, Davey, and Communicator award-winning creative, journalist and serial entrepreneur focused on emerging luxury, fashion, lifestyle and direct-to-consumer brands. Her current roles are as Managing Partner of luxury performance athletic footwear brand Athletic Propulsion Labs (APL), since the brand was founded in 2009, and as a Co-Founder and Chief Mentorpreneur® at The Forward Female which is a consulting and creative agency for female entrepreneurs.
As an e-commerce pioneer and expert, NJ also juggles her roles as an angel investor, mentor, board member and strategic advisor for female-focused luxury and consumer brands including, Modern Picnic, DeMarson, StarFace, Bumo, 11 Honoré, Artha and The Key. She is a member of The DealMakeHers, the exclusive invite-only network of leading female dealmakers who are shaping the way consumers shop today, the NYU Stern Fashion & Luxury Advisory Council, and was recently honored as a CommerceNext 2024 CommerceXcellence Award winner and 2024 Leader To Watch, one of YOTPO’s 2022 Amazing Women in Ecommerce, and by Cupshe as one of their Women Making Waves
Some of her previous achievements include being the Founder and Creative Director of her Webby award-winning agency, The UXB, and Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the now sunset Webby award-winning fashion blog, The Blonde and The Brunette ,former Contributor at Forbes and ForbesWomen, and her current roles as a Monse Girl, an Executive Member and Webby judge of the IADAS (International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences ) as well as formerly a Money Inc. columnist, former brand ambassador for Net-A-Porter, and an Official Member of Forbes Los Angeles Business Council.
Falk was recently named on the LA Times 2023 C-Suite Visionary list , and was a keynote speaker at Attentive’s inaugural Thread Conference ,the GELF (Global Leaders in Ecommerce) Conference, GROW LA and the Visionary Woman Gen V Conference as well as a recent Attentive Fireside Chat. She is deeply involved in the philanthropic world and her prior positions at American Express, MGM, and Universal Studios provide her with unique perspectives on the challenges women face in their business and personal lives.
Having trademarked the term Mentorpreneur®, NJ shares highly practical and actionable business, lifestyle, and fashion advice, often derived from topical issues, to help women succeed in their diverse roles. She strives to do it all with a bit of élan and a steady stream of enthusiasm. Notably, she was a Miss USA 2024 Judge and is featured on Modern Luxury Angeleno’s Best Dressed List 2024.
Falk earned an MBA from The NYU Stern School of Business and a BFA in from the NYU Tisch School of The Arts.
